Help!

I am 6 months post op. was in a large stall from June until the beginning of July. Last week alone I lost 10 pounds. So far this week I have only lost 2 pounds and its killing me. I am staying under the 650 calorie intake, I am working out, I am drinking water..... What is wrong?

Last week alone you lost 10 pounds?! And now you've only lost 2 this week?? I..... Ummm...

You.... What the.....

Oh never mind I can't even form a productive thought on this one.

I asked my surgeon during my post-op appointment the other day why sometimes there are big losses and other times there aren't. His response was "as much as we'd love weight loss to be a purely mathematical formula, it's not. Your metabolism and the conditions in your body are constantly changing, which is why some weeks you see big losses and others you don't, even if you're doing everything the same week to week. The important thing is that the scale continues a downward trend over time." While I know we all have moments when it would be great to see big losses at the scale, I'm happier now that I know not to expect the weight loss to be a constant from week to week. Just happy knowing that whatever's lost is gone for good :)

No reason to be rude. It was a serious question and it bothered me. I'm sorry that I finally broke my big stall where I stayed 291 pounds for over a month and now it's slowed down. That's why we are here to ask questions no matter what they may be. So if I bothered any of you then I'm sorry. Geesh

I think you're doing great! I didn't lose for 2wks...to be expected!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help.

I wish i had a week where I lost 10 lbs. I'm excited for the weeks I lose a pound now that I am 9 months out. Just stick to the plan and you'll continue to lose. Hang in there and try not to get discouraged.

:D

That's ok, no need to apologize!

But patience and trust the process. you have lost 70 or 80 pounds in 6 months??

Your body could also be catching up with you..at 6 months out and eating only 650 calories a day.

650 calories a day is not enough..Add some more protein and what ever you lose is better then a gain in my books!!!

How many calories are you guys eating at 6 or more months out and still losing weight?

Did your doctor tell you to stay at or under 650 calories a day? I haven't been sleeved yet but that seems low. I am 204 now and was told 950 after i start solids. just seems a little low for nine months out. But if that's what your doing don't fear it will definitely keep coming off. Hang in there !
