July 2013 Sleevers

Any other newbies on this journey out there?? Had my sleeve on Tuesday, 7/16; so I'm 9 days out. Day 3 has been the worst so far. Think I possibly have temporary (I hope) lactose-intolerance as I'm struggling with some bowel issues; but beyond that, I feel very good. Not being hungry all the time is wonderful. Still hard to get in the habit of not drinking for 30 min. before; during; and 30 min. after eating. How is everyone else making out?

Sleeved on July 22. Came home on Wednesday. Really no pain. Some occasional gas discomfort but nothing bad. I was getting all my Protein in yesterday. Still trying to get all my liquid in though. Working on it every minute. A little emotional today. All of a sudden weeping over I don't know what. Not much of a crier' date=' so not liking this at all. My poor hubby keeps asking what he can do. Does the emotional stuff go away soon?

I was very emotional days three and four too. Come to find out I was having a reaction to the codeine my Dr sent me home with.

I am definitely feeling extremely emotional as well. I get very upset & cranky with everyone. It started yesterday whicch marked my one week since my surgery. I thought maybe I was going crazy :( it was my daughters 18th birthday & everyone went out to eat & I just felt so left out all because I had the surgery does not mean that I dont exist any more :( I could have went & took my protien shake with me but noone bothered to even ask. I think that is what hurt the most. :'(

Im 5 days out too & I haven't had any pain either and I am also very emotional today. Just want to sleep all day. I'm not taking in much at all though. I feel like I'm going to make myself sick if I don't start getting in my nutrition. Also, I want to shave my legs and pick up on stuff. I think that is why I'm so emotional. Also I have NOT had a bowel movement yet!?!

I still have trouble with bowel movements so I have been taking Milk if Magnesia to help and it has.

I am having problems too. My nurse said to take Miralax. It have taken it three days in a row with no success.....

Congrats to all of us July Sleevers. I was sleeved on Tuesday, July 23rd. The surgery took 3 and half hours due to blood vessels being wrapped in the spleen. All went well though. I am having some pain, but nothing I cannot deal with. The biggest issue is trying to get comfy. My awesome hubby took me to Wal-Mart today so I could get out of the house and it did wonders for me. I am trying to get in my liquids and proteins but it isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I will keep everyone posted here. I know how much it helps me to ready everyone's posts. Lets keep thinking positive and looking at the goal. Have a great day.

Try the Milk of Magnesia... It helped me right away

Is any of my fellow July sleevers having the same problem I am. I have been at the same weight for 3 days. I try to remember to have all 5 meals and I do exercise at least 3-4 days a week.

Yes and no even gained five pounds. I wasn't getting in enough calories. I have lost everyday since I upped my calories. However, the everyday loss will stop after a while. So, I suggest we not weigh ourselves everyday but once a week.... Just a thought... ????

Sleeved on July 16th already down 23lbs, couldn't be more excited. Still in pain but its worth it.

Had my one week follow up appt today. Got weighed & I am down 17lbd since last friday. Had my surgery done on thursday july 18th. I am very happy & excited to see what the future holds. Just got back from a nice walk outside too :) congrats to all of the july sleevers!!!!

Yea I stopped weighing myself everyday because of it. Thanks for the tip, I think cause I have been home for 3 weeks, all I do is sleep or walk so nor when I go back to work I will be awake and will have to eat.

I was sleeved on 7/11 and since the 5th day post-op I havent had a problem getting my shakes down. Also, just started yesterday on my soft/pureed foods and seem to be able to eat more than I thought. I made eggs last night and ate about 1/2 cup. Today I had cottage cheese and was almost able to finish one of those small single servings. I don't get sick, I just feel full and stop. I am worried that it's too much???? I thought it would be harder than this. Should I be concerned???

I'm day 3 when does the pain subside?

July 22' date=' only 3 days out....NO WAY near 64 oz, although my post op instructions are to "increase my fluids to a goal of 64 oz" I am at maybe 20 oz, I am "full" all the time and then I have to take Carafate, Actigall and Prevacid ....UGH!!! I did manage to suck on a Calcium citrate today.[/quote']

How long did your pain last???
