Is no drinking before and after eating a forever thing?

Is no drinking before and after eating a forever thing? What did your Dr/NUT say? I am really not missing the drinking during the meal part but the timing the before/after time is a drag. Especially when I am behind on fluids for the day.

  • From everything I have read and been told, yes, it is a forever thing. I would guess most of us have problems when we are behind or low on fluids, especially in the heat this time of year. Good luc

  • Yep it's only 30 mins to a hour after eating

  • I have seen a huge variety in time frames... 15-30 min before 30-90min after. The biggest thing to remember is the longer that food hangs out and the more your body works to digest it, without the add

I can drink a few sips . and that it

I was told no drinking before during and after eating. when I used to have a bowl of breakfast cereal, it always involved milk. So it's basically eating and drinking at the same time.

Yea.. What about cereal. Isn't that kinda like saying no soup? You'd be drinking some milk with every bite.. If someone says no cereal I'm going to flip out!!! :(

When it comes to eating cold cereal on rare occasions I just mix about 3/4 cup of cereal and about 1/2 cup of milk and that works out fine because it's a small amount. When you have liquids with your food you become full faster. Soup and cereal is the only time that I have liquids with a meal. If I were to eat 3-4 oz of steak and try to drink I would more than likely puke and usually I have to wait about 45 mins after eating dense protein before drinking. I prefer drinking before my meal so that I'm well hydrated.
