July 2, 201313 yr It's been 6 weeks and 31 lbs, and today someone finally noticed I've lost weight! Started at 239, am now 208, but MAN it seemed like no one could tell! I don't like a lot of attention, but it is nice to know its noticeable now.
July 2, 201313 yr I have lost 49 pounds and only two people (one of them today!) who didn't know about my surgery have noticed. REALLY PEOPLE!?!?!
July 3, 201313 yr Just wait, you will get to the point where EVERYONE notices and you are the talk of the town and almost get tired of talking about it! haha That is where I am at right now. It wont be long, hang on and get ready! Congrats on the good job!
July 3, 201313 yr I'm hoping that no one notices lol I guess I'm weird. I don't want anyone to notice that I'm losing weight until I'm about 1-2 months out and eating "regular" food. No one knows I'm having surgery. Only 3 people: mom sis and my significant other. I can just hear the rumors now..."oh maybe she's anorexic", "maybe she's stressed" or "maybe she's sick"...at least if they see me eating healthy portions of healthy stuff they'd just attribute my weight loss to that.
July 3, 201313 yr I also got kind of mad when no one noticed early out. Now a days, it's like OMG!!!!! WHAT HAPPENED?!?!??!!

My brother, being the sheriff of our county, said Ge would tell people I'm on meth. Lol! Thanks bub.

July 3, 201313 yr Oh crap I didn't think about drugs...and being a person of color in a predominantly white workplace...scratch that I'm the only black person there so that automatically means that I've started taking the drugs I supposedly sell. God I hope no one notices. I can see a "random" drug test in my future!

July 3, 201313 yr People are strange. I told everyone about my surgery. My surgeon needs to pay me a finders fee for all the folks I am sending him! July 3, 201313 yr I am one who has been up front about having surgery so everyone I know is looking for changes in my weight. I get lots of compliments and it does feel good. But the best was someone who provided computer support in my office. I retired last July so it has been almost a year since I've seen him. I am doing some consulting and he was in the office. As soon as he saw me he said "Wow, you have lost a lot of weight'. That's when I could finally accept that I look different now.
July 3, 201313 yr I feel ya. I've lost 18 lbs and no one has really noticed Ive had a couple of people just recently say ?? Your face looks skinny???Really people?? Wut d heck did i have a 50 lb head?? Haha I feel my clothes looser but my big head is the only part that has lost weight!! Lol
July 3, 201313 yr Yeah I went to my cousins wedding and nobody said anything. I know I haven't lost a WHOLE lot yet...but the closest I got was from my mom, "I can see it in your face"...well gee...that's great, but what about the rest of me LOL
July 3, 201313 yr I found that it takes a while for the weight you lose to start showing up. It seems like a two week delay. I'm at 35 pound loss and people are just starting to comment. I also feel like its melting off from the head down. My face is thing but my butt is still bootylicious. Not in a great way. I have lost this much weight before but my body is responding totally different this time.

I didn't tell many people (and no one at work) about my surgery, and I HATE being the center of attention, but you'd think people would at least notice there's less of me, LOL! I guess it's just hard to believe the weight is actually coming off, and outside confirmation helps make it real. I'm not looking for anyone to make a big deal about it, I just want to know that I'm actually changing.
