I had surgery June 24 at 4:00 PM. Everything went well. I lost 12lbs on my 2 week pre op diet. My starting weight was 221. I used the Bariatric Advantage products. Which consisted of 2 Protein Shakes, 3 Protein Bars and 1 small meal of lean meat and green veggies per day. Never, never cheated. The dr said my liver was still a little fatty so they did a biopsy too. Has this happened to anyone.? Right now I'm very sore with terrible gas pain.

How long does it take for this to go away? And the soreness from the incision on my left side?

Wow.... I'm impressed, a few hours post op and you're posting already. Hopefully the pain and gas will subside quickly. Take care, feel better soon, and keep us posted on your recovery.

Congratulations on your surgery. I am due in 1 week and three days. I have heard that the gas pain can go away in a day or two but can linger minimally for up to a month. Walk, Walk, Walk, burp and toot as much as possible to help get it all out.

Never heard of a liver biopsy during this procedure, and that is kind of scary. I wish you the best on it.

Keep us posted and good luck with everything.

You'll much better after 3 or 4 days! Follow ALL instructions, and take the pain Rx till you don't need it. Oh, WALK!

Hope you feel better soon! The first few days were the worst for me (I could have never gotten online to post on a forum, so you are doing better than I was already!). Take Gas-x strips if you aren't already (if surgeon okays) and drink as much as you can. The walking does help and if you can stretch your arms a bit, do that. The morphine helped me a lot (I had a pump) immediately post op. The oral med they gave me after that did not agree with me..made me nauseous and couldn't focus eyes, so they switched it and I felt a lot better. The pain should lessen within a few days but you will probably be sore when sleeping etc for at least a week or two. Everyone is different though. I took pain meds for a few nights post op so that I could sleep and just motrin/tylenol during the day (with dr's blessing).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
