Best of luck to you for a safe and swift recovery! Your screen name caught my eye because like you I'm a autism mom to two autistic sons (16 & 23). I've put in so much time over the years to make sure their needs are met. Now it's time for us to do something positive for us, right?

I also have a wonderful son with mild autism. He is 14. He wants so badly to be normalized and not stand out. I understand him. I want to be normalized just like him. I am happy to see some mom's on here that have given so much more to the ones that need them then sometimes to ourselves. Good luck to you and I will have mine on Wednesday.

I too have a son with autism, although he's younger than yalls children. He just turned 3. I'm looking at July or August for surgery and worry about his reaction to my limitations during recovery. Good luck on your surgery!!

I hear that a lot of people are still craving and hungry after being home so just be careful and continue to eat what you are supposed to!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
