  1. Definitely my Blender Bottle for my protein shakes. My regular no name blender works for any other shakes I may want.
  2. I'm having my surgery on Halloween so I know that next year I'll get to rock a great costume! You will too!!!
  3. I'm having my surgery done by Dr. Carmody at St. Mary's in Richmond. It's a Center of Excellence and they are all great. Their number is (804)893-8683. If that's not too far from you, definitely call and see if they take your wife's insurance. As everyone else has said, this is not normal! Hope everything works out for you!
  4. I'm being sleeved on Halloween and I do have one. But, its very lax. I can have 2 shakes, 1 fruit, 1 yogurt, 4oz of protein, and unlimited veggies daily for 2 weeks.
  5. No doubt! I'm getting sleeved on Halloween and will be on soft foods for Thanksgiving and it's going to be so much different than any other Thanksgiving dinner I've ever had!
  6. I don't think that date means anything. When mine was approved the insurance company told me the end date was Oct 28 but when the surgeon's office called three days later to schedule it the first date they had available was Oct 31! Just be patient and wait for that call and you'll get all the answers you need!! :-)
  7. I got the call from the surgery scheduler a little bit ago. I am scheduled for Halloween!!! I have my all day nutrition class on Sept 26 and then 2 weeks before surgery I will have my physical and preop testing!! I'm so excited and I can't wait! I won't start my preop diet until Oct 17 but I've already started to implement the changes I'm going to need. Can't wait to be on the loser's bench!!
  8. I was just approved so I'm still preop but I was told that I would have a drain for 2 days which would suck out any blood or excess Fluid and would let me know if I develop a leak. Some surgeons leave them in longer and some don't use them at all.
  9. My insurance approved my surgery less than 2 hours after it was submitted!!! I'm so excited!!! Now I'm just waiting for the scheduler to call me to set a date. I do know that it will be in October!!! I can't wait to be on the loser's bench!!!
  10. I have my last appointment Friday morning for the nutritionist evaluation. Once they get the results of that, Friday afternoon or Monday morning, they will be submitting to my insurance!!! They said it won't take but a couple days so hopefully I will have a date by the end of next week!!! I can't believe I am so close!!
  11. I'm going to get a tattoo on my ribs!! Can't wait!!
  12. So glad you're doing well! Keep it up and walk, walk, walk!!
  13. I'm still preop but I'm definitely holding onto to all these tips
  14. I was just told that it should be protein isolate.
  15. This thread is amazing! I'm so glad it's been kept up these past few months! I'm still preop so this is great information for me!
  16. Thank you for your story!! I'm still preop and hope to have surgery in October. Its awesome that you and your husband were able to take this journey together!
  17. You look amazing! How tall are you?
  18. I am so sorry to hear about your little boy. That must have been devastating! Good for you and your husband for getting your lives back on track! I am still preop but I'm fairly certain that I will go through the identity crisis as well. I guess time will tell. Great job on your weight loss so far!
  19. I have a 3 year old who is non verbal with autism. I plan on having my husband bring him in to see me.
  20. So, I had my eval a little while ago. I was in and out in 20 minutes, no questionare just a little talking. He approved me but made it a requirement that I get into therapy for my stress related binge eating. I didn't have a problem with that. However I have already called 6 different places listed on my insurance's website and I have only found 1 practice that handles eating disorders. And they only take children.... Grrr... Can I just make an appt for what's causing the stress and not the eating disorder itself?? Will the surgeons office find out when they get the notice from the psychiatrist?? I really want this surgery!!
  21. Going in for my psych eval in less than 2 hours! I'm so excited and just slightly nervous because my Dr is a man and I have trust issues. But, I shall prevail!!!
  22. I am so sorry this happened to you! Hopefully this will indeed be a blessing in disguise!
