How many days for driving and walking long distances before surgery?

Hi, I was sleeved past Wed 12th and wanted to know what your doctors said about driving again and walking long distances (2.5 or 5 miles). I am feeling so well, maybe just a little dizzy at times, that I think I could drive and walk maybe in 3 days (a week before surgery). Any recommendations?

4 weeks for driving & heavy lifting to prevent hernia Walk for 15 mins every 2 hrs You may feel good now, but you should really follow the discharge instructions. You still got some pretty tough

  • I was working out on the elliptical and driving 7 days post op. Check with your surgeon's office. Generally, it is largely based on being off narcotics and how you feel but some surgeons require rest

You may feel good now, but you should really follow the discharge instructions. You still got some pretty tough days head. So take it easy.

The doc said if I was taking the pains meds I had to wait butni didnt need then after I got discharged so I started driving on 5 days post up when I was able to sit up n my tummy not hurt..lifting 3 weeks for me and no limit on walking as long as im not in pain..4 days post up I walked almost 2 miles

I was working out on the elliptical and driving 7 days post op. Check with your surgeon's office. Generally, it is largely based on being off narcotics and how you feel but some surgeons require rest for longer periods.

I drove day 4 but I was really weak. Probably shouldn't have done that.
