I am still preop but that is my biggest fear! I have failed so many times on so many diets, it is hard to think I will finally have success!

The only way you will fail is if you give yourself the option to fail. The only option I gave myself was success.. And I've never considered anything else.

Don't get me wrong. I've failed a gazillion other diets and two lapbands so I'm not new to failure. But it's in my past forever... And can be in yours too :D

I think many of us worry about failure. I worry about failure all the time because I've yo-yoed so much. what I have been able to determine is that with my new tool (tiny tummy), it will be harder to fail. My concern comes into play after I've gotten within 15 lbs of goal because in the past that's when I start to gain it. This time, I'm determined to continue my daily walking for exercise and to continue to eat healthier. I've fallen off the wagon a couple of times these last few months but it has been easier for me to get back on it since I know I have to eat right to stay healthy which means I have to make good food choices since I have such a small tummy.

Good luck to you!

Feeling like you will fail is normal. The surgeons tell you that it doesn’t work for everyone. They also tell you that you may not lose as much as you want. You have to believe that will not be the case for you. I’ve tried numerous diet programs and lost weight but never sustained the weight loss. I thought to myself, why will this work for me? Why should I do it? I was scared and nervous about the procedure. I mean it’s surgery. I’m getting cut open and put to sleep. There are numerous risks that are associated with that. But then I thought to myself, there are numerous risks that are associated with being overweight. Many of those risks overlap. What do I want more? My friends and family members continued to ensure me that I would succeed and that’s what helped me. They continued to give me that positive support that I needed. I’m only 3 months post op but I’m happy with what I’ve lost so far and I am so eager to lose more. Once you start losing, it’s such a good feeling that you want to do everything possible to ensure it continues. You will succeed and you have to continue to believe you will. It will be a difficult journey but we’re all here for each other to make the ride a little easier! :)

I am very afraid of failing um my sleeve only holds so much but I don't feel the restrictions most people feel but I've learned to weigh my food measure my food take one day at a time make sure I journal and I know as long as I journal I will succeed because 85 percent of people that journal succeed in weight loss and most people that do not don't do well God bless good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
