May 28, 201313 yr Hey! Today is my 7th day post op and I can eat creamy soups but I'm picky! Any ideas for good creamy soups?
May 28, 201313 yr since you can only have very little...2 oz at a time...I have opened one can it was Cream of Chicken...We discussed not thinning it so it stays with you longer.I put in small freezer safe baby containers...I have it 3 times now...got to more to use...so remember one can is 5 meals
May 28, 201313 yr I don't like cream of whatever soups alone. Butternut squash soup is divine, however.
May 28, 201313 yr Cream of chicken was my favorite too, but I did mix it with skim milk and added protein. Tomato basil was good too.
May 28, 201313 yr I love this line: http://www.imaginefoods.com/products You can find it at Fresh Market or Whole Foods (or I imagine most other "gourmet" grocers), or you can order online. They have the 16 oz or 8 oz sizes and they keep for a week. The creamy soups have no lumps at all and are delicious.

Maybe next week:) I have my 2 week f/u appt tomorrow.

Because I can already have way more than 2 oz of Soup in one sitting...

May 28, 201313 yr How far out are you? I am about 12 days and if I can get 1/4 cup in, I'm doing great! I'll be a week out tomorrow. I can do about 4 oz. of soup for a meal. Granted it takes me about 1/2 hour, but still
May 28, 201313 yr I'll be a week out tomorrow. I can do about 4 oz. of soup for a meal. Granted it takes me about 1/2 hour, but still Don't worry. Some people's stomach swells more post-op than others. Just because you can down 4 oz. of soup now, it's no indicator of your final portion sizes when you get to solid food such as chicken or fish. I couldn't keep anything down for the first few days AT ALL, but then it seems like my body just kind of decided to go with the flow. My incisions don't hurt and my tummy feels more or less normal (other than holding less!) I'm hoping that I'm just healing quickly It took me a whole work day to finish a Protein drink today, so it's not as though I'm eating anyone out of house and home. haha
