Pain on right side under rib?

I had started getting a sharp pain on right side under right rib yesterday. I took some pain medicine and it became tolerable now it is tender and still a little pain. I was wondering if anybody experienced the same thing? I was thinking maybe ulcer, I am two months out from surgery.

Do you still have your gallbladder?

  • Author

No I had it removed last year

You should go see your doctor. Hope all is well, please let us know what it was.

I started having pain in that area and in my right side a little while after gallbladder surgery. I was told it could be because they cut through a bunch of nerves and muscle to do the surgery that you may have pain there for awhile. I've talekd to friends that have also had gallbladder surgery and they have the same pain. Though you should still get checked out by your dr.
