Post-op back pain?

Anyone have post-op back pain?the pain in my mid left back is much worse than any of the other pains. It gets better if I lay on my side, but it is petty painful on my belly to lay on my side (I was sleeved yesterday)

I had that to and the dr said it was from the mesh they put in.

What mesh?? You mean to put the part of the stomach in that has to come out?

A lot of Dr.s put a piece of mesh to prevent future hernia's. it's not in your stomach but from what I understand its in your abdomen up against a muscle.

will the pain go away?at times it can be breath taking.

More than likely it's trapped air. They pump you full during surgery so they have a clear view. Try walking as much as possible to dissipate it. Some people swear by gas-x strips but they're really for bowel gas. Don't worry, it will get better.

After that, you'll probably feel some pain in your left side where the biggest incision is. That's where they removed the excised part of your stomach and the above muscles will start stitching together.

you would only have mesh if you had a hernia repair at the same time and not all doctors use the mesh even then. mine didn't. I've got back pain from gas I think.

I 6 day post up and this back pain is still bothering me it's like in my shoulder that's the only thing that's been bothering me since the surgery my left shoulder uhhhhh
