Hi my name is Sharon. I just made the decision to have the gastric sleeve. I am 57 and have struggled since the age of 10 with my weight. My surgeon will be Trace Curry. I have my first appointment next week. I anticipate the surgery will be in August. Wish it could be tomorrow. I have to admit I have a fear of failing at this too but I am excited.

Congrats on your decision! Don't go into it thinking you are going to fail! I just had the sleeve done on Wednesday. I am 58 and have struggled with my weight since having my children. Good luck to you:)

Think positive. I waited for 6 years for this procedure....so my attitude is I will succeed cause 6 years is a lot of time to plan and dream of the new me. You to have to know that you will succeed. Can't wait to see the new and successful you when you come on over to the sleeved side.

welcome, and I agree with the two previous posts...use this time to plan and read as much as you can on the procedure...also, ask questions here a lot...that is what I did...all the best on your journey
