Complications after one year out :-(

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery 15 months ago. I just recenlty can only eat Soups, Jello nothing real solid or I will just throw it up. I have lost 125 pounds so far! Just wanting to see if any sleevers have ever had this happen? I feel im too far out to have these complications. I had my surgery in a different state so my new insurance will not cover visits there. The Doctors I see seem to no have an real understanding of my surgery!!!

I'm sorry that you're having complications. I can't offer you advice but I do hope things get better for you.

You might want to ask if you can get referred to a gastroenterologist.. It might be a stricture (scar tissue build up in the esophagus) they would just scope you to see and then possible fix it right there by dilating the esophagus..

Just a thought..

I would call your surgeon's office and see if they have an information packet they could send your new doc. That's what my surgeon' office does. They want to make sure whoever else is taking care of their patients knows exactly what they've had done.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
