Drains?

How many on here have had a drain. If so, what was it for?

I am asking because I did not have a drain and I have no idea why I would have needed one after surgery.

I just double checked with my hubby who was with me the whole time (he is a physician so he followed closely what was going on with me) and he said I never had one either. I checked with him just in case I forgot!

I had a drain in not sure what was the main purpose. All I know I see some stuff drained in it that looks like bloody water.
