The first 4 days were very hard for me ... I felt so much better after I was released from the hospital ... I'm only 8 days out now, not great but so much better than the first days ... It does get better.

The 2nd day you think you are going to die. You are asking yourself silently if you have made a mistake. You can't say it out loud because you made this decision on your own. Elective... BUT, tomorrow, you will feel better. I promise! And the next day and so on. And when that first 10 pounds is gone, you will think "maybe I did make the right decision". Then, 20 pounds! You did the right thing! Use your pump and remember, this is your future! Congratulations!

5 months post op and the time I woke up in recovery the pain was a hard 9. The pain meds they gave me did not touch it. Then every day it was a little better and by the end of the first week I was fine. Still having trouble getting fluids and protein in until day 10 when one morning I could drink so I guess the swelling went down.
