tracking calories and carbs?

Do you track calories or just protein and fluid intake?? I wasn't given a daily carb amount. Do you track it too? My nut hasn't told me to keep track of calories but my scale isn't moving so I thought I might need to keep track of it.

I tracked calories and still do a little even in maintenance. I didn't track carbs, but I only ate healthy carbs (whole grain bread, brown rice, etc), and not much of them.

I track calories, protein, carbs and sodium. All of those are contributing factors to the way your body is going to react to the effects of the surgery. I use a 2 to 1 protein to carb rule and try to get 100 gms of protein a day. Sodium I try to keep under 1500 a day, and usually come in somewhere around that. I am notorious for not eating enough calories, so I track to make sure that I am consuming enough.

I track everything I eat with my fitness pal app.. I just don't pay attention to their recommended amounts because it is a bit off even when adjusted down in calories for post vsg. My nut didn't give me a number to strive for.. She said she wants me to have protein with every meal and eat that first.. I almost never get beyond the protein in meals.

How many calories do you allow yourself? When losing and in maintenance?

I also track in my fitness pal! I'm 3 months out and doing 800-1000 calories a day. I eat 80+ grams Protein and try to get in over the recommended 64oz of Water. I weighed today at the dr and have lost 80lbs since my surgery! I'm pretty sure the last 20lbs came from increasing protein and water intake :)

I'm a data geek, so I track calories, protein, carbs, sugars, sodium, fat and water.
