November 27, 200619 yr Hello, It's only 4 days post and I'm feeling better each day, still alot of pain in the stomach area, but I guess that's normal. For those of you who have had this done at TLBC, is there ANYTHING else we could add to in the liquid Phase diet. I'm starving!!!! Also for the full liquid phase, what kinds of Nutrional supplments are good, low fat, high Protein, low carb...and specific kinds?? Thank you and have a great night. Doriana
November 28, 200619 yr Congrats on getting through your big day, girl! I am a TLBC graduate, too, and I stuck to their diet requirements. From what I've been reading on the main boards these make sense. You have been operated on and foreign materials have been installed and actually sewn into your body. :rolleyes Your insides need time to recover and you don't want to rip those internal stitches. This is the rationale behind the diet. And yes, I found the diet kinda rough at times, especially during that first week. I used to find myself lying in bed thinking of filet mignon done extra rare and pasta Alfredo for hours at a time.:hungry: Reading, watching TV, drinking broth, and taking demerol helped to distract me. On the bright side, you are gonna lose a lot of weight!:clap2: And that's a good thing.:biggrin1:
November 28, 200619 yr You'll get thru it Doriana....before you know it the first 2 weeks post op wil be over with. I didn't really feel hungry much for the first few weeks.....so I can't help you out much. Just drink lots and lots and lots ....and a different variety of drinks so it is like you are having more.
November 28, 200619 yr When I was on liquids I really liked butternut squash soup, chilli blended up, bean with bacon soup blended up and fruit smoothies with unflavored protein powder or non-fat powdered milk added. It will get better! The first three days were hardest for me. Good luck!
November 28, 200619 yr Congrats!! I liked Propel Water and Powerade. They helped keep my energy level up somewhat and. And when I was too hungry I just went to bed!!!! I had a hard time with the hunger the first week or so too. I feel for you.
November 28, 200619 yr Author Thanks for all your help. I'm feeling better this morning....I am going back to the clinic on thursday as my hubby is getting banded... So, I will ask if there is anything else I could have.... I can't wait till the recovery stage is over with.... Have a great day. Doriana
November 28, 200619 yr Doriana, I'm there with you girl. I have to do liquids for six weeks! I'm hoping when I see the surgeon, he'll back off of the additional four weeks and move me to the mushies phase.
