Liquid diet cheaters

This has been the absolute worst week ever. I cheated everyday on this diet. Not by much though. I'm supposed to have 3-5 high Protein shakes a day, I miss my food funeral because it wasn't just a food funeral, it was how I are everyday...

Day 1- Don't even ask

Day 2- Grilled chicken patty with bottom bun

Day 3- Same as day 2

Day 4- 5 pieces of beef Jerky

Day 5- just started but it isn't looking good

Getting sleeved on Wednesday, someone get me in check please

  • I cheated as well on my liquid diet. Try your hardest to stay on track today. The other thing I did was drank a bottle of magnesium citrate. You need to stay focused today through your surgery date W

  • Oh please. A completely liquid diet is extremely tough and before surgery (when you know that you can eat anything) it is very difficult. A few cheats here and there does not mean you will not be succ

Drinking 4 to 5 protein drinks per day really did help me get through 5 weeks of liquid pre op diet. The protein kills your hunger pangs for at least twenty minutes and basically I just spaced them out threw out my day and just sucked it up between protein shakes. You can do this, no excuses!

Yes, I also did at least 4 Protein shakes a day, but I was allowed a salad with lean protein for dinner.

It's hard, no doubt about it. But it is so worth it. Also remember, what goes in, must come out. Imagine having to push a couple of McDoubles out after stomach surgery ... not going to be fun.

I've been dreaming about eating salad! I called my NUT today just to confirm salad wasn't on my list... It's confirmed :(

So you didn't have to drink liquids for 3 days prior to surgery??

Just to be clear, that poster was a very low bmi if I remember correctly. I also was low bmi and while I had a prediet, it was not a liquid diet nor was it terribly strict. The difference being I wasn't as heavy as people who have this surgery should be so my doctor was easier on me. I was limited to 40carbs a day (which included wine) and nothing else was focused on. Dream preop? Sure it's a nice one, but I had much much less to lose than others so my liver wasn't as badly damaged (fatty) because of it.

Do not compare yourself to others. YOU NEED TO FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR!!!! Your doctor chooses a path which is geared towards YOU being successful in this surgery, just as mine did. Your journey is not mine though and as such following my path might harm you.

JC,

I'm hoping that all will turn out well for you. It is hard to make the transition from food to liquid. But please try some additional Protein drinks. The Isopure is good with a little Crystal Light in it. It gives a different taste, if you are able to have it. I have just ordered Premiere Protein and they are good! 30 grams of protein. You will want to build up your stores, IMHO.

Much success to you!
