Mine did, but I was in Acuna which is just the other side of the border from Del Rio. It didn't roam either.

Mine worked great in Monterrey Mexico. Plus my surgeon's guesthouse had a phone we could use that was free to call and receive calls from anywhere in the world free of charge.

Check with your carrier because some charge roaming and I've also heard per minute, long distance i think. Good luck also!

I'd be nervous too, but you'll be fine. Its the day you've been looking forward to for a while now. Be excited! :)

Mine worked in Mexicali....nerves are VERY normal---if you can't sleep now, you will make up for it following surgery with some anesthesia to help you!!! It will all be ok---I did it!! And if a wimp like me can do it--so can you!!!

Cingular has a feature you can activate for $5.00 (for a month) that will give you calls to/from Mexico at no extra charge. Otherwise, it's 99 cents per minute.

I was banded on 10/28/2006. I used my Sprint Phone and there was not charge.
