  • I went to dr. Garcia in mexico... demonstrates our awesome health care system here in the US.. I live litterally behind north cypress hospital and am a paramedic, yet I don't even have the option of

  • I'm in Beaumont, got sleeved in Dec. over in League City. Good to find a fellow Golden Triangler. Kinda strange, but it made me feel better just knowing there were fellow sleevers in my area.

Exactly! I was flabbergasted. I went to meet this doctor because he goes the extra miles to make sure his patients don't spring a leak. But in my mind, his requirements were to stringent. I choose Dr. Turnquest instead and love him.

My mom used Dr. Turnquest and has been very happy

I will have surgery on 9/16 with Dr. Turnquest. Love him and can't wait!!

I live in Santa Fe, Tx between Houston and Galveston. I was sleeved 12/5/12.

Hi. I'm from the Sugar Land area. Four months out today. Yes I made the right choice.

I'm in The Woodlands. Had conversion to sleeve on May 13, 2013. Have embraced a whole new attitude related to food that i've never accomplished before.

Would love have a support group in the north Houston area; If you are interested please let me know by PM and we can get one going. OR, perhaps you know of one that is already ongoing, If so please let me know.

Well I'm in the process of completing insurance requirements with uhc to be sleeved. I'm using dr Scarborough with tlc an my first visit was this past Tuesday. Only things I still need is 4 more appointments for the 6 month diet requirement, an egd( I think that's what they called it! Lol) an psych eval. Moving along an hope to have surgery in December! :)

Love Dr. Scarborough! Just hit my 6month surgiversary! Best choice ever!!

Great how are you doing? When you started your journey did you do all of your weight management classes with tlc? Or did u use ur pcp? Also when u got ur egd which hospital did u use? Hospital for surgery? I no I'm asking a lot of questions but its nice to speak to someone that already had surgery with the dr I'm going to use;)

Does anyone know of any meet-ups or support groups who get together in Spring/Conroe area?

Let's start one. I'd love to have a support group. I'm in The Woodlands, PM me.

I'm at 79lbs lost at 6 months. I paid out of pocket since my insurance doesn't cover WLS so I didn't have to do weight management classes or the egd. I had my surgery at Victory Medical Center (SO SO NICE) and I'm always open to questions!

For those looking for a support group on the north side, I had my surgery at Conroe Regional back in December and they gave me a handout for a support group that meets there. I can't find the paper right now, but will look for it.

Wow your lucky! I'm having to wait so I can finish all kinds of requirements. Congrats on the loss, how was your recovery? Any problems?
