February 15, 201313 yr I have UHC and they approved it in about 5 business days! They said that was on the longer end of the range because everyone is trying to get all their stuff approved at the first of the year when benefits start over. But I think 5 business days is pretty ok! However, call them every other day because they will only notify you via snail-mail which could take god knows how long. I was approved days ago and still haven't received my written notification yet. They should give you a specific notifications department phone number and also a reference number to make it easier for you to call in to check.
February 15, 201313 yr I have Uhc and I had to call personally and sign up for a group about wls info I forgot the name but until I did that they would approve me. I signed up over the phone and gave them the basic info. 3 hours later a nurse called me and gave me lectures and alternative to wls it was so annoying but I took it like a champ to get what I want lol!!!

February 15, 201313 yr Mine with Uhc took 4 days. It was submitted monday and I heard this evening that I was approved. My surgery is next Thursday, the 21st. Such a relief to be approved.

February 16, 201313 yr I have UHC and it was submitted by the doctors office on 12/31, they processed it on 1/4 and I called them on 1/12 and found out it was approved that morning. Ask for a approval code to give your doctor. if i didn't do that, it would've taken a few days longer for my doc to get the info and schedule me.

Does anyone know how long it takes UHC to approve the sleeve ?
