Trouble taking meds

I used to take a handful of meds (5 to be exact). Unfortunately they were for things that the surgery wont help. Anyway, since surgery I has been very difficult for me to swallow them. I used to take them all at once, but now I have to take them slowly and then they always gets stuck in the back my throat. Any suggestions?

I have to now since surgery take with with a hot beverage, one by one. If I don't I get that stuck feeling. The hot beverage makes all the difference:)

I have chewable vitamins but my pills had to be taken 1 at a time , at least 15 minutes apart.
