Work after surgery

How much time was everyone out of work for? I am hoping my doctor will let me stay out 6 to 8 weeks after surgery . I work with people with mental health issues. I have to do a lot of restraining people.

I also work in mental health as a Psychiatric Technician. Unfortunately have to do alot of floor stabilizations, because of that I was told by my MD that I would not have patient contact for at least 4 weeks and 2 weeks of limited duty.

Ohh ok that is good to know

Same here

Ok....well if anyone happens to be a State of California employee, you have the option of limited duty..hope everything works out for those that don't. From the looks of all the information available on this form most ppl only need 2-6 weeks off. Best wishes to all my Bariatric Beauties.

I work at a hospital and I will be off 3 weeks to the day. Once I lift over 10 lbs again I'm going back to work... One I financially don't have a choice. Bord? Na... Our program includes PT pre and post op so ill be hitting the gym 3 days after surgery....

I have a sedentary job and requested 3 weeks. I'll see how I feel after the 2 week post-op if I feel like I have the energy to go back sooner.
