  1. That's exactly where I'm at! I'm just starting week 3 and it just started towards the end of last week. I'm going to try to be careful of acids and try to keep the prilosec & pepto handy. Gotta start sleeping on an angle again too. I'll ask the doc at the 1 month post op visit. Thanks.
  2. Ok gang...I'm not sure what's going on, but lately I've had some pretty bad heartburn. I thought it was because I was eating either too fast or something too solid, but today it's happening again, and I had liquids for breakfast. What is going on???
  3. I'm in the same position and I don't think it's that slow. I've lost 9 pounds and this Friday will be 2 weeks for me. Mind you, I did a 3 week post op and lost some weight then too...I don't think of it as a race to lose as much as you can as fast as you can, so long as you are getting in your protein, water, and exercising, the weight will come off! Good luck!
  4. Managed a small piece of grilled chicken tonight & it was successful! Also, the sharp pain in my right size - pretty much gone!
  5. I had some eggs for breakfast and chicken tortilla soup from one of my fave restaurants today. All was good and I'm just taking my time eating. Still getting fluids in and resting at home. Too cold to venture out, so I'm working out, doing some light housework indoors. Still feeling better each day!
  6. Started experimenting a bit w/ food. Had some scrambled eggs for breakfast and chicken soup for lunch. Takes a short forever to eat and the restriction is there after just a few small bites. Just about sick of protein shakes right now, but I can't get 60g of protein in just yet w/ food. Yes, my right side incision still hurts but next thursday is my 2 wk post op, so hopefully that will go well.
  7. So far, the only issue I have is a serious pain on the right side w/ one incision. No major problems w/ gas or sleeping/lying on either side. I'm gonna try some soft food tonight to see what happens. But I slowly added some foods back and it hasn't bothered me at all eating and getting protein in. Thankful for that! I've been diligent about getting fluids in so we'll see what happens tonight. Did anyone else have a sharp pain on their right side from their incision/ There is no way you can turn or move that you don't feel that particular site. i don't think it's an infection since my temp has been the same for day's now and the incision itself isn't open, no fluid of any kind coming out. Just curious as to what it is, if anyone else has had this and how long it lasted?
  8. The first incision was around 8:15 (my surgeon told my hubby) and I woke up in recovery around 11:30 ish. So, about 3 hours for me. But it was robotic laproscoptic so, I don't know if that takes longer
  9. Mine is on the right side. Do they usually do that there or is it almost always on the left? Feels like a sharp, stabbing pain when you try to move or twist. Like trying to sit up from lying in bed or sitting on the sofa.
  10. I'm gonna try skim milk today just to see. And it's just 1-2 oz to see if i can tolerate it. I have been getting fluids in, but not much protein. The liquid protein bullets taste like liquid candy right now. I've tried the unflavored protein to add to other foods, but it smelled like egg protein and made me sick. So, I'm thinking of just trying skim w/ some shakes or on it's own for now. Thanks for the advice.
  11. Ok, I had surgery on 2/15 and I am really having a hard time getting a good variety of protein in w/ just clear liquids. I'm thinking about trying 1% or skim milk just so I can add some variety & protein. Anyone else try this? I'm fine just getting in fluids and finding juice to drink so not dehydrated at all. Just concerned abt protein levels.
  12. Did anyone post op notice their sense of smell go off the charts??? For some reason every scent is heightened and they don't smell good. Scents like lotions are too strong. Food smells I used to enjoy almost make me nauseous. My sense of taste I know is off b/c my body is in ketosis, but what accounts for the scent?? Anyone else experience this?
  13. Day 3 post op. All I do is sip, burp & sleep. I'm having a hard time getting fluids in because I fall sleep so much. When I'm awake I can do a sip every 15 min. Still working on my 42g protein bullet from this morning. Any suggestions as far as what I should be doing ? I have an app on the phone I could use. But when does the fatigue wear off ?
  14. I'm just now settling in to being back at home. I'm sleepy and tired all the time. How long did it take you to start getting your liquid protein & water in at the recommended levels? I'm sipping when I'm awake. Takes forever to get an ounce down right now. Tell me this will get better!
  15. It's been so nice being home again! Just curious, how long did it take to get water & protein in??
  16. Starting to move around a bit and today. Also able to get fluids down and am sipping constantly. In hoping to be home today.
  17. I used Paul Enochs from Bariatric Specialists in NC. Very good practice.
  18. Got sleeved yesterday! No major pain or gas so far. Just lots of dry heaving. They have me on anti-nausea Meds & it doesn't seen to help much. I wish they would take this catheter out already. But today I have my upper gi & i hope to get snitching in my system. Haven't eaten sine bbwemmdinner in the forth day& I think that to is why in a
