I had the gastric sleeve October 23, 2012. When I debated about having this surgery I decided if I couldn't conform to all the rules for six months I would never succeed and there was no point in the surgery. So as I jumped through every hoop for my insurance and had to wait their six month wait, I changed everything. No soda, no caffeine, all protein diet, waiting 15 min after liquid for food etc etc etc. I did it all and managed to take hold your breath my 399 lb body down 48 lbs by my surgery date. I had promised myself I would lose 40 and everything else was gravy. I then lost 17 post surgery and I was thinking piece of cake! So now I am down 25 since the post weight loss and its slow moving. All those doubts did this work did I some how stretch my sleeve. What if 90lbs is all I get would I be happy with that!! Hell no!!! I want to look and feel normal! For many here 100 is their goal for me its still at least 100 to go. It can sometimes be very over whelming. What can you do but keep going. I didn't get here over night and I'm not going to lose it that way. Big family wedding in Feb and still feel all those same insecurities from 90 lbs ago. Who would have thought?
