Lump in throat

I was sleeved on 1/21 and I've had a lump in my throat ever since. The first few days I just assumed that it was due to all the tubes that went down my throat and nose. I'm 3 days out and the lump is still there. It is there even when I swallow without food or water in my mouth. Is this normal? I had a haital hernia repair at the same time, if that makes a difference.

Yes, it does make a difference...I too had a hiatal hernia repair & they told me I might feel some tightness for awhile. I did not, but I was expecting to. If it concerns you call your doc, that's what they are there for! Good luck!

I had this too!! It's from the tubes. Mine went after about 2 weeks.

I had a hiatal hernia too.. I didnt have a lump or tightness.. but I could not take a deep breath.. and that scared the pants off of me.. I got panicked when I returned to my room after surgery..and had to get up out of bed and sit in the chair.. I was afraid of not being able to breath.. and for like a week at home.. I couldnt take a deep breath.. it eventually went away..and Im fine now.. they said it was because of the hernia and where it was located. but do check with your doctor.. thats why he is there for us. best of luck to you.
