January 22 Texas surgery patients

The January Sleevers group is so large and spread out so far. I am hoping to make contact with a smaller group of Texans who share the same surgery date and might want to stay in touch during their recovery.

I just got home from the hospital, doing pretty good.

Awww! Congratulations!! Be careful to stay hydrated or you may get a headache and feel like your heart will pound out of your chest! Stay positive each day should be better than the one before!

How has it been since your surgery?

. How are you doing? I am in San Antonio also. Do you have a sleeve buddy?

Love to have y'all as sleeve buddies! I'm feeling down today... Trying to give myself permission - 2 surgeries in 30 days'll take it out of a body. The first was a lumpectomy, thankfully benign, and the catalyst for the decision to proceed with VSG. Not regretting, but feeling like I rushed. I'm here now, and looking forward to downsizing and decreasing risks.

I plan to work from home tomorrow, saving the get ready and drive energy, since I'm feeling pretty weak. It'll get better when I can have Protein, right?

I can't believe you aren't having it now! I have never heard of anyone ordered to clear liquids for a week. Did you have some complications? There are some protein drinks that are clear liquid, called protein shots. You are basically starving yourself and that can drastically impede your healing! Please call your doc tomorrow and ask about it. I am worried about you!

Not a complication one.... I've been up walking since 2 hours post op, all night the first night (couldnt have my sleep meds). No nausea, no leak, not even a headache. My doc was strict in the hospital too, nothing by mouth until 26 hours post op. my discharge orders say, no matter how well you feel, nothing but Water, crystal light, sf Popsicles, or broth til this Thursday. That is when I have my post op appt, which includes a nutrition class etc.

Got permission for clear liquid protein this morning... But eeewwwww, so sweet. I've never had a sweet tooth and this constant sweet stuff is getting gross. Whhaaa Whhaaa - done complaining. Must find acceptable liquids!

Surgery to be Friday feb 22nd. Dr. Manuel Castro in Dallas. I live around the Possum Kingdom Lake area.

Scared but sorta ready..ok..scared. :)

Hi my Texas Buddies!!! I be having my surgery in Dallas around March 7th. I'm still completing my pre-op insurance testing, but Dr. Kennedy says that I shouldn't have a problem getting my surgery done that week. Looks like ya'll have had your surgeries or you're getting very close!!! How's it going so far?
