Must read book....Eat It Up!

I was sleeved 6/21/12 and am very near my 6 month mark. I started at 197lbs and a huge number of health issues and am at 167lbs now with a smaller number of health issues. I have been VERY slowly losing weight and have hit a month long stall. I also just finished reading "Eat it Up!", which needs to be a MUST READ for every post bariatric person. At first I thought the author was smoking crack, but I began to realize that the stall was directly related to what I was NOT doing more than what I WAS doing, which raised a lot of emotions, from high highs to low lows. My number one realization is that

I NEED TO WORK TO MAKE THIS WORK. ok-so I am a slow learner :-) I was waiting for the melt......no melt, well, slow melt and stall. What the book made me think about was all of the things I already knew about my body and sort of conveniently "forgot" while waiting for the miracle. So with a new commitment, I am ready to work now and sort of mad at myself that I wasted the prime 6 month window for the greatest loss. Actually I am really mad at myself. Any one else out there experience any thing like this?

Thanks for sharing the book and your hard won lesson.

Yup, and I really wish I could elaborate, but I am at work!

Good post - I will look at the book!

What us the biggest issue you learn you need to do but are not? Tx for the post. I will check out the book.

I understand this completely. I've been hoping for my last 19lbs to just magically drop off for a couple weeks now and still nothing. I've been eating right but I haven't been working out at all and i kno I shud be smh

Just got it on my kindle. Thanks for sharing it!

congrats on losing 30 lbs

health issues improving - how wonderful!!!

your commitment - determination shine through - "I need to work to make this work" - well put!!!

you shouldn't dwell on the past, and what you wish you had done.

the only time you are now wasting - is thinking about the past and what you can't change

future is right in front of you..........see it with the "welcome" sign on the path. :)

i can see it in your eyes, B) you got this, you know what to do

here's to the next 6 monts, and the next and the next for the rest of your longer, healthier ,happier life :)

good luck to you

happy holidays :)
