In case your unconscious and there's no one around to let them know you've had the gastric sleeve. So they will take different precautions with the tube and drugs

This has really never entered my mind. I'm curious if it is a significant risk for emergency services.

We talked about it in my support group. So I wanna get one can't be too safe. You are your own advocate.

I'm in California and my Doctor recommends we get one for sure. If you were ever in a emergency situation all responders should know that you have had this proceeder just like Bypass patient or the needs of a Diabetic.

The company I will be using is MedicAlert, they have brackets, necklaces that has a medical ID# on it and it will say Bariatric.

It could save a life.

I had not thought of this before this thread, but it's a great idea. I found one on Amazon I like: http://www.amazon.com/Gastric-Sleeve-Medical-Italian-Bracelet/dp/B007NMF242

There are lots of companies out there from which to order one. I ordered mine from Lauren's Hope. My PA suggested this for the tag:

GASTRIC SLEEVE

NO BLIND NG TUBE

NO NSAIDS

(I also added no aspartame as I am allergic to it)
