    Most bariatric surgeons advise against regular coffee drinking. its reported that coffee stimulates gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn), stimulates acid production, and stimulates the colon and makes you "go". Coffee is a complex chemical, and much of the effect is not solely caused by caffeine. So decaffeinated coffee does not have significant advantages over caffeinated coffee.

    It also may irrate the new stomach wall.

    What if it does not create any problem....cause I didn't felt anything wrong after drinking it.....

    I didn't know "no" coffee I just thought no caffeine. I use decaffeinated coffee in some of my Protein drinks and I don't have a problem.

    Maybe this is something to further talk to your doctor about if there are major concerns about it.

    I'm 5 months out and I have 2 cups regular coffee everyday. My surgeon said as long as I can tolerate it I can drink it. I'm down 65lbs and have about 40 to go!!

    I drink coffee every day... No restrictions on coffee.
