Cymbalta

My doctor wants me to stop taking Cymbalta before surgery because it is delayed release. Why can't I take a delayed release capsule after surgery? It works really well for me and I don't want to discontinue it. It says you shouldn't open the capsule to mix it with water. Help!

I hope my dr doesn't tell me that. I don't want to come off of cymbalta or Wellbutrin extended release. I haven't heard that yet.

During the nutrition class the pharmacist came in and spoke about not taking Cymbalta. I was concerned and spoke to my Dr. Both my psychiatrist and dr said I will be fine with Cymbalta. That was a huge relief because I've been doing so well on it! I'm not sure why mine is allowing it?

Thanks for the info. I have my preop appointment and nutrition class on Monday. I plan on addressing it with them during that time. I hope something can be worked out because it is so effective for me.
