Is Thyroid An Issue?

Hello!!

So I received clearance from the pulmonologist today! Yay me! Buuutttt.... I received a phone call from my the surgeons office saying that my "thyroid is borderline". Now I have never had thyroid issues and I am not really sure how it will affect the surgery process. I asked I it will affect the surgery and they said no "but I should follow up with my primary care doctor because they need to monitor it". Has this ever happened to anyone and has it held the surgery off?

Please help!!!

The doctor didn't seem concerned with it. My main concern is that te insurance company will now say ok why don't we try putting u on meds to try to regulate the thyroid and see if that will help. Lose weight before we jump to surgery :-/

I Hvae hypothyroidism... I was approved by insurance for my surgery... Starting medication to regulate your thyroid levels is not a magic cure... You didn't become obese just becuase of your thyroid, although having your thyroid out of wack makes it difficult to loose weight on your own...

My surgeon said to have my pcp keep an eye on it. I also have hypothyroidism.

Thanks calebsmommy and joyful noise. I am Ol w the dr. I am just nervous that when they resubmit it to the instance that it will cause a conflict and that it will be put off. I nervous the insurance company will use it as some way of not approving it. :-/
