I was told that they probably wouldn't postpone the surgery unless you have a fever. I had asthma and a bit of a cold the day of surgery. They had to give me some oxygen post-op and kept telling me to breath but I was ok about 2 hours later.

Thank you pinky, how long has it been since your surgery?

I had surgery 9/26, 2 weeks ago. I've lost 12 lbs pre-op and 8 lbs after surgery.

Hey Pinky. We have the same surgery date. I lost 4 lbs pre op and 14 since.

You ladies have me inspired, I have lost about 8 lbs so far, one more week before surgery. How is post-op treating you all?

Good luck, I will keep you in my prayers and will keep up with the posts.

Good luck girls...

My surgery is Oct 17 so I am a day behind you. I started my clear liquid diet yesterday so have only lost 2 lbs pre op. Did you have to go on a diet earlier?

I'm on clear liquid diet for a week (started Tuesday) got my blood work EKG and chest xrays yesterday. Monday I have to go get a type and match incase I need blood.

I am on a liquid/protein diet, I at least have to stay under 800 cal p/day. Have been on since the 3rd and lost 8 lbs. I went yesterday had my final appt with the dr, registered and signed the surgery docs. I am so excited for this journey, I have struggled for years with my weight. Good luck to you girls, keep in tough :)

I am so glad you said that b/c that's one of my biggest fears right now... it seems like everyone around me is sick! My coworkers are sick and my oldest daughter is just getting over bronchitis and I'm also scheduled for the 16th!

My doc ok'd me but it is up to the anesthesiologist on the day of surgery. I have a slight cough and a stuffy nose but clear lungs. Hope you don't come down with anything, I was so stressed about being sick and that it slowed down me getting better, I am ok now. Good luck

I used to always get bronchitis every time I had a cold - 4-6 times a year. About 6 months ago I started using Zicam at the first sign of a cold and the colds have always gone away without going into bronchitis. I like the quick melt Zicam better than the hard candy type.

And by the way, even though the Zicam cost probably 6 or 8 dollars, it saves me money because I don't end up having to pay the doctor their $20 copay and then spend $10 on antibiotics and maybe cough medicine or something else, then maybe a trip back a week or so later when the antibiotics don't work and then more antibiotics.
