Today I asked my PCP if she is familiar with after care for someone that has had weight loss surgery...she said yes but also told me I wasn't that "big". She went on to tell me some good tips for nutrition and wrote down some good protein powders and vitamins. She said if I start losing weight with the pre-op diet that I should reconsider having surgery because it is dangerous and people die and they get malnutrition.
Sooo I'm kind of weirded out cause she is the first person to tell me anything like that.
She also said that she knows people that have stretched their pouch and gained back weight.
This by all means is not changing my mind, I have my date and money in place already..and support by my husband and family.
The only reason I asked her is because I'm going to Mexico for my surgery and I need a Dr. to help if I need it.
Feedback/comments?
I guess I'm nervous now and I have been confident up until today. Thanks.
