They had me start after my surgery, about the second to third week, if I remember right... When I could chew up foods...

My Dr says chewable vitamins after surgery they are also prescribing a b12 nasal mist I do once a week again after surgery. And I think 3 or 4 weeks out I start calcium Citrate at 3 months they do blood work to check my vitamin levels

Every doctor is different if he hasn't mentioned it ask the NUT or nurse to tell you. I hAd to purchase my first month from the doctor and they are all chewable: multivitamin, iron, calcium and anti-ox. Surprisingly they don't taste bad. Contact the dr and I am sure they will share this information with you

Mine had a nurse or NUT come in before I was discharged & told me exactly what to take & when. :-)
