Weird Pain..has Anyone Else Experienced This?

Recommended Posts

Let me start by saying I have had zero incision or internal pain since coming home from the hospital. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and starting getting a pain near my stomach last night. The pain is right where my stomach is, but my stomach doesn't hurt, if that makes sense. It feels like an internal ache. It hurts when I cough or move a certain way. I called the doctor and he said if I wasn't feeling sick, fever, or short of breath to just keep an eye on it. Is this normal? Does anyone else have achy pains like this?

I have like a dull pain on the left side by my belly button where they pulled my stomach out. I think mine is gas. I was hurting last night and then it subsided when I went to the bathroom.

sounds like the incision in the abdomen under the skin healing up..or itching like. If pain increases or redness or swelling occurs, see the doc

I had a dull pain on left hand side at about 3.5 -4 weeks post op. lasted about a week and vanished. Think it was just the stomach healing up. Guess there is lots of swelling and internal bruising.

Hope yours settles down soon

I have had it too. Dr said strained muscle from twisting and bending too much. It will get better as I heal. They said from blowing my stomach up from all the gas it stretches the muscles as well. Things r trying to get back in their place. Heating pad helps.

Thanks, everyone! I just need some reassurance sometimes. I'm trying not to run to the hospital with every ache and pain, but don't want to ignore something that might be serious. I love the support and advice I get from you all! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
