Hungry?!

Hi all,

My first post here (woo virgin!). I was sleeved on Thursday 6th Sept so only 4 days post op. I'm concerned about my hunger and need some advice please!

My surgeon says if I can pick it up with a fork, I can't eat it (read: mushy, puréed food and nourishing liquids only) So, I went to town buying jelly, Soup, baby custard, yoghurt etc. plus stocking up on Optifast shakes. Determined to do this right.

Will someone PLEASE tell me why I'm still so hungry? I am eating the recommended amount of the recommended things and I'm so hungry. If I DO eat more than I am told I should, I don't vomit, get dumping or reflux. I am so worried I'm going to stretch already. Everyone else says they don't even feel like food and have to force themselves to eat. I could eat anything (even the chicken pie family had for tea...!)

*sigh*.

Haha she is a complete clown!! Best way to describe her.

I'm doing better with the fluids. Still hard but I'm definitely not hungry. 6kg down!

My main source (really, only source) of pain is my left wrist with two failed canulla's. So much so, that I was on the phone for half an hour with the 24 hour GP. Bruising is spreading and the ache is constant. Going to the docs tomorrow.

Ouch!!!!

My suggestion for fluids is to go the the store and buy a variety of liquids & frozen popsicals. Be careful w the sugar. You will eventually lose weight, so dont concentrate on really healthy things. You can end up in the hospital for dehyrdation pretty darn quickly.

Try things like carb free fudgesicals by breyers. Or fruit juices mixed w Water. Or broths. You need to find something you can keep down.

Good luck today! Hope its a better day.
