Stomach Flu - Who's Had It Since Surgery?

Not that I'm sick or anything, but I was curious if anyone has been sick with the flu since surgery. Specifically, is it any worse than usual? Since you can't eat that much, you can't throw up as much, right? Also, is the risk of dehydration during the flu greater for gastric patients? Inquiring minds wanna know.

Haven't had a sniffle since 12/5. Highly unusual for me. Other problems galore...but no flu or cold or anything like that.

my fear is getting sick a day or two before surgery..... but i also wonder if it will be more tough on us regarding dehydration and such.....guess we have to be extra diligent on our fluid intake.

I got a stomach virus the day before my surgery. Throwing up and everything. I was so afraid I should not have the surgery. Ironically, the pre-surgery anti-nausea patch made me feel much better. I let my surgeon know, and he said it shouldn't be a problem. Surgery went fine, but I have wondered if all the nausea I had after had something to do with the virus.
