How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?

Isopure? More like Isopuke!! I'm trying to find something with a lot of protein (can't beat 40 grams) in a bottle where I also get 20 oz of fluid at only 160 calories. If I didn't have such a tiny stomach, I'd just chug it down fast. But I have to sip, sip, sip, and gag, gag, gag. Those protein shots are worse. Guess it's back to the shakes. Let me know if you found something tasty out there!

I must still be really wiped out from surgery. I'm five days out and isopure clear is all I've had. That said I can't meet my goals for liquids or protein so I guess I should try to shake things up tomorrow. After a horrible surgery I'm sort of afraid to leave clears.

Iggy, it gets better... in time. Hang in there.

That stuff actually looks really good on paper. How does it taste?

Is it considered a clear liquid?

Sure looks like it.

If you're not able to get all your liquids, then don't worry about protein yet. Focus on Water, keep hydrated. The protein will come as the swelling reduces.

  I have your answer... http://www.cytosport...-ready-to-drink << it's a link to Cytosport's RTD whey Isolate drinks. Straight up... yum!

I was on a clear liquid diet for a LONG time and it sucked. I hate isopuke (my apologies to anyone who likes it but YEEEEAKKK) and I hate Protein bullets. But this drink in green (tropical) or orange (tangerine) ROCKS. I bought them at Vitamin Shop. They have a refrigerated section where you can buy these individually and try them. Try anything, but keep your receipt. You have 7 days and even if it's open and you hated it, bring it back for a refund. (hello, protein bullets... how do you think I know their return policy?) And yes, your tastebuds DO change, so remember Vitamin Shop has a great refund policy (that stuff is expensive, any of that stuff that is!).

Good luck!

I think I will take a trip to the Vitamin Shop this week and try one or two of the Isopure and Cytosport. I will report back with my findings. Fingers crossed!

I think I'm going to take your advice :). I gained 17.8 lbs between the hour before surgery and release from the hospital so I think the bloating is making it harder. I only have about 20oz in today and I think I'm working hard on it! Maybe tomorrow I'll just give the protein a break and see if that helps. Thanks :)

Guys....and gals...there is an ad at the bottom of the page that says "powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocalate splendor tastes like chocolate milk" You KNOW everything on the internet is true...lol!

Day 1 of 10 down for the pre-op!

Chocolate splendor really does taste like chocolate milk. :)

OTR - that's good to know! Just used the surgeon's line today...chicken bouillion B, fruit drink C-, shakes...C...oh well, its only a short time and I have been OW a longgg time...:)

I'm not a fan but I would mix it with crystal light. Okay make the crystal light first then mix it with the Isopure. I put the crystal light directly in a bottle of Isopure and it didn't mix well.

I drink Syntrax fuzzy navel with crystal light.

The cytosport whey isolate's RTDs are "clear" liquids. Yes.

I just started playing around with different protein drinks and I found that Costco's Premier Nutrition chocolate protein shake is pretty good. Its 30g protein and 160 calories. I am the worlds pikiest eater and I think it tastes like chocolate milk.
