Lactose Intolerance After Surgery

Recommended Posts

Has anyone become lactose intolerant after surgery? Please walk me through your struggle? Any tips and tricks? I think this might be my problem, and quite frankly it's got me down :-(

I have not. I am not sure of when your surgery was, but just take it slow. Your body is still trying to adjust and adapt. Your stomach could still be swollen, and does not want what you are trying to give it. Things will get better in time! Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I'm lactose intolerant after surgery. I have avoided milk, ice cream, and cottage cheese since those three bother me. I can still eat cheese and yogurt with no problem. I think it's getting better. I had some cottage cheese the other night with a slice of Tomato and it sat well in my sleeve. Rex is finally starting to accept some dairy! Yay! :)

I’m lactose intolerant anyway not just because of this I use lactose free products like milk cheese and yogurt.

You just have to look out for milk sugars in things that’s what disagrees with you, so you don’t have to switch to like soy or anything you can if you want (but I find it kinda yucky) I can have some normal stuff in really small amount like if I run out of my milk I can have a cup of tea with normal milk or if I want some cheese and its not mine I can have it but if you try too much or everyday your going to suffer for it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
