Now That I Am Post-Op

Recommended Posts

All i have had since my surgery on Aug 7th is Water, sugar free popsicles and a sip of koolaide. Is it bad that i havent started my broths or Protein? I am on a clear liquid diet post op for one week then full liquids for two more weeks. Right now the thought of anything but water or popsicles is just not appetizing at all. Is this normal?

Being 4 days post op you need to drink alot of fluids , you don't want to get dehydrated and land back in the hospital - no fun

wanting to drink Water, or posicles only, being "normal" - whats normal?

i am sure previous new sleevers didn't have any desire to eat/drink. This will pass

Drinking plenty of Water is necessary - making sure that it is PLENTY of water - like i said you must stay hydrated.

popsicles are fine too - i loved those, still love them

if you can't do the Protein shakes this early in the game thats ok for now

things improve

feel better

good luck

kathy

I was sleeved on the 6th and am not even allowed Protein until 7 days out, do don't worry about it. Just stay hydrated. With this surgery once you get dehydrated you can't drink enough to catch up and you'll end up back in the hospital with an IV. I drink warm herbal tea and broth since my sleeve isn't tolerating cold fluids or plain Water. Hang in there.

The only approved Protein I was allowed to have was Unjury strawberry sorbet, Unjury chicken Soup or unflavored beneprotein or unflavored Unjury protein. Oh and Isopure clear protein. All but the chicken was nasty to me so as everyone else said just be concerned with staying hydrated .

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
