Abdominal Binder

Did anyone use an abdominal binder post-op? If so, what brands do you recommend?

I was given one at the hospital after surgery. I am still wearing it 3.5 weeks out. Not sure what the brand is. I like the support it gives, but I think I can stop wearing it soon as my pain is mostly subsided.

I had an abdominal binder and it wasn't comfortable so I bought a Spax like garment from Walmart and it worked great. It was also more comfortable amd much cheaper than the binder I ended up returning. I highly recommend something for support though. It makes a world of difference.

Do you know the name of it by chance, Amy?

I too was given one at hospital and have worn it ever since vsg on July 30th. Great support especially when I cough or sneeze....

so when we are in the hospital can we request one?? that way it will be billed to insurance

Probably. If I'm not mistaking I think I woke up with one on while in recovery. Ask your doctor .

I have abdominal binder on my list of questions for the surgeon.

I actually tried 2 different ones. One was Futuro brand. The other, I don't know. I just didn't find either comfortable because of my body shape. That's why I ended up in a generic Spanx type thing.
