I was just diagnosed with ischemic colitis in November. I started having symptoms a year ago when I was two years post my VSG. My symptoms were pain in the left lower quadrant, lose stools, diarrhea, bleeding and mucous. I was trying to see if this is a complication of the surgery? My GI just total me to drink more water and take Miralax every day. Just exacerbates the problem. Any better ideas?

I am so sorry! I had ulcerative colitis so badly that I was only multiple medications. I am 100% good now and take nothing. I did run into some MAJOR pain in my colon but we discovered I wasn't getting enough fiber. I now chew 2 to 4 gummy fibers. I would recommend those over miralax. I tried miralax multiple times but it seemed to cause more problems. Give some gummy fibers a try for two weeks and see how that works.
