  1. Hey David! Congrats on the surgery and good luck!! Its amazing. I haven't been able to get enough people together YET! I am working on it. Message me on here if you ever have questions.
  2. I am looking for other women who can relate to me. I am a mom and a teacher and stay busy! I know that this is a struggle everyday. I think it would be awesome to make some new friends and watch each other transform. I really don't need to be informed like the support groups I have heard about. I want to build friendships with people who I can randomly text if I am falling off the wagon and have someone pick me up! lol My husband can't listen to it all the time! Lets give this forum a few weeks and see if we can get a response and find a good time to all meet.
  3. Thanks for the info. I am trying to find people in Denton or closer. I am so busy with teaching and a 4 year old that I think Frisco and Plano may be to far to travel. I have met a few people in my area that are interested in meeting. I will pass on the information to them.
  4. DENTON here! I created a new topic looking for people in my area that are interested in meeting at Starbucks or somewhere to create an awesome support group. I have found that after 6 months food is becoming more of a challenge! I am open to having people meet at my house once I get to know everyone. I love my sleeve but think it would be nice to collaborate with people WHO GET IT!! - Morganne
  5. I am so sorry! I had ulcerative colitis so badly that I was only multiple medications. I am 100% good now and take nothing. I did run into some MAJOR pain in my colon but we discovered I wasn't getting enough fiber. I now chew 2 to 4 gummy fibers. I would recommend those over miralax. I tried miralax multiple times but it seemed to cause more problems. Give some gummy fibers a try for two weeks and see how that works.
  6. Hello! My name is Morganne and I am a little over 6 months post sleeve surgery. I am very pleased with my results and love my new life. I know this is very challenging once you get past that 6 month point. food seems to go down easier, you tend to be able to eat a little more, and food choices test you daily. I am looking to start a support group in my area. I am hoping to meet new people on here and once we have a group going, plan a meeting so we can all help each other out. I have NEVER in my life done something like this but I can tell that "normal" people JUST DON'T GET IT! My Dad had the surgery right after me and I am trying to get him interested in meeting with a group of people too. I was thinking a local Starbucks or something? I am open to discussion and would love to hear from people in my area. Once I get to know everyone, I will be more than happy to open my home for monthly group meetings. I think it would AWESOME to share recipes and even cook dinner at my house as a group. I hope to hear from someone
  7. I buy these cottage cheese combo packs. I love them! I'm 15 lbs from goal. strawberry, peach, blue berry, and pineapple flavors I personally ate yogurt before the sleeve and now I never ever do. I've become obsessed with counting my carb intake and yogurt has a lot.
  8. My pics Surgery June 19th so 4 months ago. 203 to 145. I'm loving life!!

  11. You can do this! I'm 15 weeks out and I totally understand what you are saying. I could easily snack all day!! Here is my routine. Everyone is different but this works for me. Mon - fri 8 am cottage cheese with fruit 12 noon lunch meat with cheese rolled or tuna on one serving of whole grain crackers. I buy the ones with the least amount of carbs 5 pm small snack, pork skins, fruit, cheese, or humus with 5 seed crackers. Proportion!! 7pm choice of meat 2 oz and small side. (Salad, green Beans, or sweet potato.) Saturday - Sunday About the same as the week days but if I want a junky snack I have it! Popcorn, one cookie, frozen yogurt, or one slice of pizza etc... I am holding myself accountable for the week days and the weekends too but will not punish myself (get down on myself) if I enjoy some sugar/carbs. Remind yourself of how you felt before surgery!! Make yourself some sticky notes with reminders in your car, house, work etc I also set alarms on my phone (program them) to go off when I can eat.
  12. Me too! 9/15 153.8 GW 143 Good luck!!
  13. Most amazing feeling to start school and my students in shock! One of my high school students sent out a text to a few that graduated last year telling them they had to see me. Next thing I know, they are school checking me out. I love being healthy and having more energy to teach. It's so exiting! Sw 203 cw 153 June 19
  14. Hey! Haven't been on for a while, teacher! Schools consuming my life! I had surgery June 19. I'm down 50lbs! Feel better than ever. Size 20 to 10 and XXL to M/L. Loving life!! Best decision I've ever made. Ignore my laundry!! I am throwing out clothes left and right! One fat pic is of my car accident. Look ridiculous! Lol
  15. My dad had his at victory on Tuesday. He's doing well. I had mine on June 19, 2013 and down 50lbs!! Size 20 to 10. Left stitch was awful and took 3 full weeks for me.
  16. I think it's a great idea but it still shows you added yourself to a group even if its closed. People just can't read what it's about but the name of the group tells it all. I'm not telling my Facebook friends/family and they are already asking how I'm losing my weight.
  17. When I was going through my process I never waited over 5 minutes. Now, when I go with my dad we've waited an hour. I'm glad I don't have to go back until December. FYI: I am on vacation and I feel like I can eat anything I want. It is very scary. I have to remind myself about my old life. In my opinion, it would be so easy to gain your weight back. I literally ate meatloaf and a salad and gained 2 lbs! It was a 1/4 or 1/2 of food because I can't eat more than that. I have to diet. Fresh meat and veggies. Just my two cents. I have to begin my workout program.
  18. Just stopped in Illinois at arbys while getting gas. I ordered a kids roast beef. I ate the roast beef (3 slices thin) and calories counter says 70 calories and 8 g of Protein. Ordered a side salad and had 5 small bites with a tiny amount of ranch. Calories counter, 165 total calories and 9 g of protein. Not perfect but it good for what it is. sleeved 6/19/13 203 to 160 last time I weighed two days ago. Size 20 to 12/14 depending on store. No more blood pressure meds!!
  19. That sounds good, haven't been in a situation to go sit and eat.
