Period Right After Surgery

So my period ended a few days before my surgery. I had planned this out so I wouldn't have to deal with both at the same time. But now only 3 days after surgery my period started again (week apart). Not just spotting but a heavy flow.

My periods have never been regular but with the birth control I take it does come monthly. Some months I just spot a little and the rest are normal. The last one befor surgery was a normal one. I only missed one pill from being in the hospital too.

Should I worry about this or is it common? Maybe just trauma on my body from major surgery is confusing things? I didn't think the amount of blood can be filled so fast. Doesn't feel like it should be hormones from weight loss this quick either.

Very common due to the blood thinners you got.

I got my period one week post op, which was 2 weeks early. I am always like clockwork. It is very normal due to the hormonal changes and blood thinners. You may become irregular for a time during rapid weight loss.

Mine ended the day before surgery and started 2 or 3 days after. Dr said it was from the blood thinners.

It's normal and a bummer! I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with both =( I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get mine soon, but I imagine I'm gonna. Hopefully it's a short one!
