Im in Waxhaw. Seems like its so far away, eveyone says it will go by fast. I hope so!. I am so ready to have a new life and I am sure you are too.

I am in Belmont! Sleeved May 10. 2012!

My sleeve date with Dr Heider is in October & I'll be recovering in Belmont :)

I will be at Presbyterian Main too. I will have a date today. My insurance has already approved it. Dr. Lowe will be doing my surgery. I hope we get a chance to meet!.

I am in Charlotte and Dr. Vollenger is doing my sleeve as well. I will be done with everything in September. Glad to see some Charlottieans on here. Let's keep each other in prayer!

Oh my gosh, that would be so cool if you did. Are you planning to go to support group? I hope we get to meet and walk along this journey supporting each other. Keep me posted

Upper GI and H.Pylori good and negative. Waiting on insurance now. Won't be an August 15th date for me...but I didn't think so anyway. Hopeful for mid-September :)

I think I saw you in the waiting room at one of my appointments :) Our dates will probably be close together :)

Well folks, I was an August 13th sleever. However, I've been in the hospital all week after finding out I have a large blood clot in my leg and some in my lungs as well. I won't be having my surgery after all. :/ I will need to be on blood thinners and have my blood counts routinely checked for at least the next six months. But I'm not giving up. I've lost 18.5 pounds so far and I will not let this bring me down. I believe it was God's way of telling me this wasn't the right path for me to take. This came out of nowhere and I am otherwise healthy so I am so thankful it was caught when it was, before very very bad things came of it. I wish all of you the very best, and hope to still keep in touch with y'all.

loveizme...you are in great hands! I love Dr. V! I have worked with him professionally and almost went to work for him ( I'm actually an RD), but the job went to one of my closest friends and I was happy for her. If my insurance paid for it, I would have gone to him, but I love my surgeon and get to work with him as well and am just thankful that I have a surgeon that I trust. Good luck to you!

Oh man!! I'm so sorry to hear this! I had a blood clot in my leg when I was pregnant with my son a little over 4 years ago. They still let me have the surgery so maybe down the road if this is still an option you will be able to do it? I am glad they caught it and you are doing okay! Is it a blood disorder or caused by weight? Mine was pregnancy and weight related...

So sorry to hear that but so glad they caught it! Blood clots is something I'm extremely nervous about. (currently awaiting insurance approval). Do they do some sort of test to specifically look for clots prior to surgery? How were yours discovered?

Had mine done July 26 by Dr.Bauman in Concord,NC.

Anyone going to support group tonight? I'm going. Would be great to meet some of you :)

When and where is the support group? I my go.
