Recover Time..

Hey yall,

I'm meeting with the doctor next Wednesday and i am so beyond excited!!! My curiosity is killing me and i was just wondering how long you're out for after having the surgery? I've read '2 weeks' quite a bit but then I hear ab some people going back to work after 1 week! Any info would be appreciated :)

Thanks so much in advance!

Everyone is different. The best advice I've seen is to arrange for 2 weeks then see how you feel after a few days. You can't measure your progress based on someone else's.

I am curios about this as well. I am hoping to be out for a week. I reach cake decorating I teach 2 classes a day and I can't be out more than 1 week. However classes are only 2 hours and I get to go home after the first one and then come back in the evening.

Lets see how it goes.

Lucky you have all that time!!! Wish I did too bc i thought ab that, what if i get sick at work!?!? How embarrassing. But oh well just gotta stay positive and push thru I'm sure :)

yes stay positive.everyone recovers different.another thing everyone who sits around me orders out to eat daily:!lol.i dont wanna be teased like that :-D

I have taken off 4 weeks unpaid (I have family that will help support me during this time financially if I have any issues). My surgeon said 4-6 weeks. I will be about 5 weeks out when school starts again, so I'm hoping I will be prepared to do my clinicals 6 weeks from surgery date (Nursing school). I figured if I gave myself more full recovery time I would be better prepared when I have to start back up my classes. If I want to go back in the middle of the 4 weeks my boss would be more than happy to give me hours, so we'll see.

I just took 8 weeks FMLA from my job. My position was saved and I got 100% pay. It's one of my benefits. I work for a payroll company.
