  1. I'm so excited I met with Dr Yu here in Houston yesterday and i have all my nut classes set up as well as my psych eval. I'm so ready to get this ball rolling! I'm so thankful for this app gettin to read all of yalls journeys has been so encouraging!! I've been told that if all goes well with Cigna (fingers super crossed) I could be sleeved as early as October! Also, a little fun and amazing thing I learned yesterday with JUST giving up cokes I've lost 10 pounds in a couple weeks!!! Yay! Anyways thanks for reading this if you did and best of luck to everyone
  2. Thanks! I never thought to take excedrine on a reg basis I just been using it as they come. I'll def start doing that! Thanks for the great advice
  3. Did any of yall have surgery in dec? I hope to get a date close to the Christmas holiday and was wondering if anyone was lucky enough to score a date like the 20/21st
  4. Fave; not being able to cross my legs, bc I can't. I can not wait to do this! It's insane how much the little things count
  5. So while I've been awaiting my doctors appointment to set up a date for surgery I've taken it upon myself to give up Cokes. Which to some may think, why is she crying or writing about this It's JUST a coca cola....However, I was super ridiculously addicted to them. Still crave a ice cold coke all the time but It's been ab 2 weeks Sunday without one! I know I need to shake this habit way before I have my sleeve done bc I'm assuming I will no longer be able to drink cokes ... However, I need some help. I'm starting to get really bad headaches from not having the caffeine from cokes. I'm taking excedrine migraine for right now but does anyone else have any other solutions to get ride of this awful headache?!
  6. Good luck!!!! that's so exciting!!
  7. Lucky you have all that time!!! Wish I did too bc i thought ab that, what if i get sick at work!?!? How embarrassing. But oh well just gotta stay positive and push thru I'm sure
  8. Well yall i talked to HR and if I can get a date in Dec hopefully my sick and vacation time will cover it over the holiday!!! I'm so excited. I'm new to this and just wanted to take a second and thank all of you for your quick responses and helpful info!!!
  9. Actually short term disability (my company offers that) covers surgeries and what not. One of the guys that's under me had to have surgery recently to remove and tumor and he's been out on short term disability for almost 3 months. I'm meeting with HR soon to hear my options. I had 3 weeks vacay with my company and have already used up 2 so I'm hoping maybe I can just use my last week and any left over sick time and then just take it from there!!!
  10. Hey yall, I'm meeting with the doctor next Wednesday and i am so beyond excited!!! My curiosity is killing me and i was just wondering how long you're out for after having the surgery? I've read '2 weeks' quite a bit but then I hear ab some people going back to work after 1 week! Any info would be appreciated Thanks so much in advance!
