Am 3 days post surgery! My gauze on the belly button wound has quite a bit of brownish discharge! Called office today they said its probably dry blood! Anybody else?

Do you have steri strip on it?

Yea nurse said if I change out the gauze try not to remove the steri strip! Why do u ask?

If you are clear to take shower, let the warm water washes the slough gently, pat dry, do the dressing and you should be fine. Don't take off the steri strip, monitor for elevated temp and drink your fluids. Make sure your hands are super clean ok before touching your dsg!
